City of Olkusz

Logo design, Visual identity

About

Olkusz, a city in southern Poland, located between Katowice and Cracow. In the Middle Ages it was the Royal City in The Crown of the Kingdom of Poland known from the silver deposits and mining industry. References to history can be found in the local coat of arms.

In my free time I prepared a project to redesign the coat of arms and visual identity of the city. Silver is its leading colour and refers to the town history. The new version has been enriched with red and yellow colours. By creating a new design I wanted to keep the key elements of the current coat of arms, hence the open gates, the hoe without a handle and four battlements.

This is an conceptual redesign and is not a commissioned project by City of Olkusz.
